The European Parliament Delegation for relations with Afghanistan The European Parliament Delegation for relations with Afghanistan (chaired by Mr Guido Podesta) and the 9 Members of the Wolesi Jirga (Lower House of the National Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan) chaired by Mr Salih Mohammad Saljughy, held the third Inter- parliamentary meeting in Brussels from 10 to 12 February 2009.

Official visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Mr. Hamid Karzai to the kingdom of the Netherlands.

NATO Bucharest Summit
At the emphasis of H.E President Karzai in this meeting, they agreed to provide more support in increasing the Afghan ownership and leadership particularly in providing more support in training and equipping the Afghan Security Forces.

Delegation of Women Representatives
A high-level delegation of women representatives of the Upper and Lower Houses of the Parliament of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan visited NATO on 23 – 25 February 2009.
